Georgia Power

Apply for a Grant

Guidelines
  • For those seeking grant support, we invite letters of inquiry throughout the year. Grant requests up to $10,000 are evaluated on an ongoing basis. We work with region and plant leadership teams to evaluate grant proposals within their local areas. Grant applications from region and plant locations should be submitted through the appropriate region management.
  • In conjunction with Georgia Power's commitment to be a citizen wherever we serve, strong preference is given to Georgia-based organizations and programs that seek to improve the quality of life for the state's residents.
  • The Foundation prefers to support specific programs and capital campaigns. We do not provide grants to individuals, private elementary or secondary schools, and religious organizations, nor do we fund political campaigns or causes.
  • In order to maintain flexibility in giving, the Foundation does not provide multiyear funding commitments.
  • Grant requests greater than $10,000 must be reviewed and approved by the Foundation board, which meets quarterly in March, June, September and December. Proposals for board consideration should be submitted by Feb. 15, May 15, Aug. 15 and Nov. 15 for the respective quarterly board meetings. All grant applicants are notified by the end of the month for each respective board meeting.
  • Tax-exempt organizations may receive contributions once per 12-month period and reapply on an annual basis.

Proposal Requirements
You can apply online or with a written proposal. The same information is required whether you apply electronically or with a written proposal.
