Request for Proposals
Georgia Power seeks competitive proposals that will offer exceptional value to the company and its customers. The company is seeking up to 80,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually of green energy, 1,500 MWh annually of which may be solar photovoltaic energy. Proposals must provide annual energy-only pricing for energy and associated renewable energy credits. All green energy resources must satisfy the criteria of the Green-e(R) energy National Standard for Renewable Electricity Products.
Georgia Power was notified that there is a possibility an affiliate company may choose to participate in the RFP. To ensure the transparency of the process, Georgia Power and the Georgia Public Service Commission (GPSC) asked Accion Group act as an independent third party monitor (IM) in this proceeding.
This RFP will be conducted using the Independent Monitor and coordinated through the website gpscie.com established by the GPSC. The RFP information is available to interested parties who register on the website. The bidder's conference, initially announced to occur on May 13, 2009, is now scheduled for June 15, 2009 1 p.m. in Georgia Power's James K. Davis Conference Center located at 241 Ralph McGill Boulevard in Atlanta.
