Morgan Falls Overview
Built in 1904, the historic Morgan Falls Hydroelectric Plant is located in Roswell, Georgia, just north of Atlanta, on the Chattahoochee River.
The current Morgan Falls license, FERC Project Number 2237, expires February 28, 2009. Georgia Power relicensing application process.
The Morgan Falls Project has a maximum generating capacity of 16,800 kilowatts. Georgia Power currently operates the project in a modified run-of-river mode primarily to generate power and to re-regulate peaking flows from the upstream Buford Dam. The project’s reservoir, Bull Sluice, has 673 acres of surface area at full pond.
