When does the Terrora Campground at Tallulah Falls State Park open and close?
The gate at the Terrora Park Campground opens daily at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. The campground is open year-round.

What is the schedule for recreational whitewater releases in Tallulah Gorge?
These releases are tentatively planned for five weekends a year, occurring on the first two weekends in April and the first three weekends in November. Refer to www.americanwhitewater.org for exact schedules and change notices.

What fees are associated with GPC parks on the Northeast Georgia Lakes?
Georgia Power day-use areas are opened to the public. Most of the Georgia Power recreation areas in northeast Georgia are free of charge. Some have a three dollar parking fee. The Terrora Campground at Tallulah Gorge State Park offers full-service RV sites for $16 per night and tent sites for $14 per night.

I would like to apply for a construction permit for my leased lot or shoreline on Lake Burton, Rabun, Seed, or Yonah. What steps should I take?
The Shoreline Management Brochure (link) is a good place to start to get an idea of what types of construction activities are allowed and encouraged. After making a decision on what action you will take, call the North Georgia Land Management Office (706-782-4014) to speak with a representative about your project.

How can I become more involved with my lake community?
Contact your respective lake association. Lake Burton residents should contact an officer of the Lake Burton Civic Association. Currently, the officers are Ben Meluskey (706-947-3771), Roger Hansen (706-947-3625), Steve Barrett (770-973-3474) and Becky Callahan (404-351-2153). Lake Rabun residents should contact the Lake Rabun Association through Dave Cowan (706-782-7142). The Lake Seed Association can be contacted through Bob Callahan (706-782-4709), Carolyn Kidd (706-782-2470), or Bill Atkinson (706-782-5279). The Lake Yonah Association can be contacted through Dale Mosely (706-886-1382) or Jeff Bell (770-2263-1382).

Why doesn’t Georgia Power prohibit jet skis from operating on the north Georgia lakes?
The authority to empower or prohibit any type of watercraft from operating on these lakes belongs to county and state officials.
