Whether it's the state-of-the-art facilities, top-notch curriculum or its professional and caring staff, Bright Generations parents agree that Georgia Power has more than kept its commitment to Georgia Power and Southern Company employees by offering high-quality child care in downtown Atlanta and Henry County.
In fact, as one parent, Danna Clary, said, "As employees here, we've come to expect quality services, and this child care center has exceeded all expectations."
Clary, a Georgia Power communications specialist who enrolled her children in the downtown facility, said she's pleased with the Bright Generations staff and the services they provide. Her daughter McKenna, now 5, was a member of the Bright Generations first graduating class last school year, while 3-year-old son Cavan is in the toddler group.
"I not only feel a real sense of security from a facility standpoint but also from knowing my children are right next door," Clary said.
Latesha Isbell said her 8-year-old daughter Akayla loved spending time at Bright Generations Henry County's summer camp, and her 9-month-old Amaya is enrolled in the center's infant room. Isbell, a senior sales representative in Georgia Power's major account sales, commented on the regular and detailed communications she receives from the skilled staff. She has a record of every feeding and diaper change her daughter receives, which assists in her planning at home.
"The rooms are very clean," she said, stressing the importance of a germ-free environment. "I know that they are safe when they are there."
Security was the first concern for Tedd Weitzman, engineering analyst with Southern Company Generation.
"It is obvious that Bright Generations picks the absolute best caregivers for their classrooms," Weitzman said of the downtown facility. "Each of the staff members has made it easy for us to leave our child with them every morning."
Weitzman also likes the structured and engaging curriculum.
"They also, and this really surprised me, do parent-teacher conferences with updates for the parents on how their child is doing with the curriculum," Weitzman said. "My first parent-teacher conference for my 8-month-old lasted one hour – this is just one example of their dedication to the children at the center. My child seems excited to go to the center each weekday morning to engage with her classmates and teachers."
Dionne Kassinger also appreciates the fun learning experience Bright Generations Downtown provides to its students, including her children Madison, 5, and Lawson, 2. Her children enjoy learning through creative activities like painting and coloring.
"My 2-year-old son knows the alphabet and how to count to 10," said Kassinger, staff accountant, Southern Company. "I really like the daily report that includes pictures of my son. These are teachers who not only care for your children, they care about your children."
"My experience with Bright Generations has been very positive," said Jasmine Smokes, Human Resources policies and programs specialist for Southern Company.
"My (13-month-old) son Allen has attended Bright Generations Henry County for the past year and has shown tremendous development," Smokes said. "The entire staff is really engaged and dedicated to making sure that he is provided with a solid, diverse educational and social background."
