Georgia Power joins Green Chamber of the South
Georgia Power is demonstrating its sustainability leadership by joining the Green Chamber of the South.
Founded in 2008 in Atlanta, the Green Chamber of the South, a non-profit organization, supports the growth and success of sustainability in businesses and encourages the innovation and adoption of clean technology.
“Joining the Green Chamber of the South makes a statement that we are striving to operate in a sustainable manner,” said Rochelle Routman, environmental specialist.
Georgia Power joins other business leaders who recognize the rapid growth of the Southeast's green business movement and the fact that their long-term growth opportunities are tied with the region's environmental challenges such as water scarcity, transportation, and energy costs, according to the Chamber's website (www.greencs.org).
“The Green Chamber will benefit from having Georgia Power as a member in terms of its help in providing increased collaborative opportunities for local sustainable business, the promotion of sustainability efforts throughout the Southeast, and the encouragement of clean technology and green innovation,” said Galit Levitin and Ofra Tessler, founders of the Green Chamber of the South.
