The weather has a big impact on the amount of electricity you use. For most customers, the highest bills are in the summer, when you use air conditioning the most. For other customers, it can be when you are heating your home during the chilly winter months.
With Budget Billing, you say goodbye to those peaks that can really hit your budget the hardest... because now you're paying approximately the same amount each month, based on an average of your previous 12 months' electrical usage.
Below is an example of a typical customer on Budget Bill.
All customers who have been billed for twelve months at the location, and have good credit standing with Georgia Power are eligible for Budget Billing provided their average monthly bill does not exceed $5,000.00. If a customer's Budget Billing account becomes delinquent, Georgia Power has the option of removing the customer from the Budget Billing plan. If at that time the account has a deferred balance, that balance will become due.
The Monthly Bill Amount customers are charged for Budget Billing is based on the average of the last 12 monthly bills. The Monthly Bill Amount may vary from month to month based on customer usage. A customer may cancel Budget Billing at any time by phone or online. After canceling Budget Billing or discontinuing electric service to the premise, any balance due will be billed to the account or any credit will be applied to the account.
