Programs

Georgia Power offers the wiring assistance program to off set the initial cost of installing cooking equipment in the Commercial/Industrial Foodservice market to existing Georgia Power customers. It is designed to help our customers with the cost of providing electric circuit(s) necessary in converting from their existing gas appliance, or adding an electric appliance to an existing facility.

Wiring Assistance Program Qualifications:
  • Must be an existing Georgia Power commercial customer
  • Must be installing electric cooking equipment (replacement, conversion, or add-on, consisting of fryers, ovens, kettles, ranges, skillets,
  • steamers, char-broilers and specialty cooking equipment)
  • Must be on any business or institutional rate except Real Time Pricing (RTP)
  • Each qualifying commercial cooking equipment item must have a nameplate greater than 5kW
  • Rebate to the customer will be the lesser of electrician’s actual detailed and paid invoice or $20 per kW, with a per customer account maximum of $2,000
  • Customer will submit a Wiring Assistance Plan Application (request for payment) and the electrician’s actual invoice, or the electrician’s quote for service & proof of purchase
  • Customer is responsible for meeting compliance requirements under terms of offer
  • Program begins January 1, 2008 and ends December 14, 2008
  • No later than 12/14/2008, applicant must submit valid, completed application, and all qualifying equipment must be installed by an electrician and verified in person by a Georgia Power representative
  • Qualifying Equipment:
    Sales of electric fryers, ovens, kettles, ranges, skillets, steamers, char-broilers, and specialty cooking equipment. For potential operating cost savings, consider ENERGY STAR® equipment
