Georgia Power's Solar-for-Schools Project
A solar panel installed at Augusta's Sego Middle School was expected to reap big benefits in science and technology, but the 1.4 kW photovoltaic system is yielding other unexpected results. Sego is one of the first schools in the state to partner with Georgia Power in the solar-for-schools project. Georgia Power plans to install solar panels at schools in each of the company's regions.

Engineering Industry Group Completes Headquarters Renovation with Solar Electricity System Donated by Georgia Power
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers decided several years ago that it wanted to update the organization’s building to showcase its technology and demonstrate its commitment to sustainability. Georgia Power helped the group achieve that goal by donating a solar electricity system that produces electricity during daylight hours. That energy is fed back into the electric grid. Read more.
