Georgia Power

Ashford-Dunwwoody Project

To support the growing energy needs of residents and businesses in the Ashford-Dunwoody/Perimeter Center area, Georgia Power must upgrade the electrical system.

Strong residential and commercial growth continues in the area due to its proximity to the Ashford Dunwoody/Perimeter Center area. This, along with higher electrical use by existing customers requires expansion of the electrical system.

A new substation, transmission facilities and distribution lines will help to provide the reliable service customers expect and deserve. Georgia Power has worked extensively with residents and community leaders since 2005 to gather input about the project. We have considered a number of options to reduce disruptions for homeowners in the area. Plans include significant screening and other efforts to lower the profile of the facilities.

Georgia Power began significant onsite work early in 2007. We need the facilities in service in summer 2008. The company will continue site clean-up and other work throughout 2008.

Mr. Owen Searcy is serving as our construction liaison. He will be involved throughout the project and available if you or your neighbors have any questions. Please contact him at 404-608-5124 or 678-628-2913.
