Bremen to Tallapoosa 115 kV Line

Northwest Georgia Transmission Improvement Project

Georgians' lives and livelihoods rely on a network of electric transmission lines. The Northwest Georgia Transmission Improvement Project will enhance the transmission network to meet our customers' growing energy demands and keep the electric system reliable for everyone.

As our existing system serves more customers in an area, improvements become necessary. In this case, the area in need of upgrades is located from the Alabama state line east to Buchanan, south to Bremen and then southwest back to the Alabama state line. This area includes Tallapoosa and part of the I-20 corridor.

The new transmission line provides an additional transmission source that will reduce the likelihood of overloads and give an alternate source of power to a number of area substations serving homes and businesses in the area.
