How do I know if I am eligible?
To be eligible for this exclusive opportunity, you must be a commercial customer in the Georgia Power service area. As part of our program, we are currently focused on small-to-medium businesses in income-qualified communities in Atlanta, Macon, and Augusta. You must provide proof of being in business for a minimum of two years, including financial statements and tax returns, and documentation of current credit rating. Confirmation of property ownership is required.
Examples of eligible customers may include, but are not limited to:
- Community/Recreation Centers
- Schools serving income-qualified communities
- Churches and/or Houses of Worship
- Commercially owned multi-housing units
- Institutions of Higher Learning, including Historically Black Universities and Colleges (HBCUs)
- Non-profit organizations
What is the benefit of participating in this program?
By participating in the Energy Empowerment Program you will have access to low interest financing and applicable rebates to make energy efficiency upgrades to your facility. This will allow you to save on energy costs, improve comfort, and provide a healthier environment for your business.
What is considered low interest financing?
To help defray costs and make energy upgrades more affordable, you will receive a 6% low-interest loan and applicable rebates based on project type.
What is the term of the loan?
The term of the loan is ten years. However, there is no penalty for early payoff. You may elect to pay off the loan at any time during the ten-year period.
What is the project cost?
Project costs vary and will depend on specific details related to existing technology and needs. Understanding your project goals, budget, and expectations are vital in determining project scope and overall costs.
How long will the project take?
