Moving from Time-based to kWh-based Pricing
We are in the process of updating our Community Chargers’ pricing structure by shifting from a time-based model to charging by the kilowatt-hour (kWh). The latest pricing information for each charging location can be found on the charger screen or through your ChargePoint app.

What are the different types of EVs?
Electric vehicles come in many forms. PEV, or Plug-in Electric Vehicle, is any vehicle that plugs in to recharge. These vehicles may or may not also have a gasoline engine on board. PEVs come in three types:
- BEV, or Battery Electric Vehicle, is a total electric vehicle that stores electricity in batteries
- PHEV, or Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle, primarily uses gasoline and is supplemented with electricity
- EREV, or Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, primarily uses electricity and is supplemented with gasoline
How do Electric Vehicle chargers/charging stations work?
Electric Vehicle chargers and charging station work by harnessing electricity and then distributing the power to your vehicle once they are plugged in.
Can all Electric Vehicles use the same charger?
Yes. All electric vehicles sold in North America use the standard plugs for level 1 and level 2 chargers. This means that you can charge any electric car at any level 2 charging station.
