Georgia Power's environmental commitment sets priorities to take care of the land in our state. Providing public outdoor recreation, supporting wildlife, and protecting wilderness habitats.

Georgia Power procured more than 900 megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity. Given the cost-effectiveness of renewable energy, Georgia Power continues to increase additional renewable capacity.

Georgia Power fosters an aggressive program that recycles about 40 million pounds of paper, cardboard, plastic, wood and metal per year.

In a typical year, the company recycles and reuses more than 30 percent of the ash produced in the electric generation process.
