We help because Georgia is our home.

Georgia Power’s commitment to citizenship dates back to the very beginning of our company’s existence, and for more than a century our employees have quietly devoted themselves to not only providing the best electric service but also to enriching the lives of their neighbors and communities. We have many ways through which we give back all across the state from Dalton to Valdosta, including:

Citizens of Georgia Power (Citizens)

With 48 chapters statewide and more than 4,000 members, consisting of employees, retirees and their spouses, our Citizens chapters work with community organizations.

Our statewide volunteer service organization for retired employees and their spouses, Ambassadors, is made up of more than 2,000 members active in 19 chapters across the state of Georgia.

Georgia Power Foundation, Inc.

As our company’s nonprofit arm, the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. is the platform which allows Georgia Power to sustain its strategic giving initiatives. Since its inception 30 years ago, we have invested more than $170 million in Georgia.
