Message from Mike Anderson

Senior Vice President, Community & Corporate Relations, Georgia Power; President & CEO, Georgia Power Foundation, Inc.

Georgia Power, its employees and retirees are dedicated to improving our state–tirelessly giving time and resources to help our communities thrive.

Every hour volunteered and every dollar donated represents an investment in building a brighter future for generations of Georgians to come. We focus our giving in the following five areas that we believe are vital to helping shape our future:

  • Strengthening health and human services;
  • Improving education;
  • Protecting the environment;
  • Enriching arts and culture;
  • Collaborating with civic and community organizations.

In 2016, the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. celebrated 30 years of giving—contributing more than $170 million and supporting over 2,000 nonprofit organizations across Georgia since its inception.

We invested nearly $17 million dollars back into Georgia communities in 2016 through Foundation and company giving. Equally as important is the 150,000 service hours volunteered by our employees and retirees across the state, demonstrating their true passion for making a difference in every community.

At Georgia Power, we want to be judged not only by the service we provide, but also by what we do to promote growth and prosperity in our state. Being a good corporate citizen is part of our DNA and will continue to guide our efforts to bring positive change to our communities.

Sincerely,
