Home Energy Efficiency Assistance Program

Enjoy energy efficiency improvements that can help you save energy and reduce your bill.

Everyone wants to keep their home feeling good and operating at its best. If you are an income-qualified Georgia Power customer, you may be eligible for free home energy efficiency improvements through our Home Energy Efficiency Assistance Program. We want all of our customers to experience the comfort and savings of an energy efficient home.


How It Works:

Before completing an application, make sure you meet the basic program criteria:

  • You are a Georgia Power customer.
  • Your household income is 200% or less of the U.S. Federal Poverty guidelines. View 2021 guidelines for program participation.

Fill out an application

Your completed application will be reviewed to determine your participation eligibility.

Call 1-877-310-5607 Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET if you require assistance completing an application.

If your household is approved to participate in the program, a Georgia Power Energy Assessor will contact you with instructions to complete a virtual assessment. The assessor will review recommended home energy improvements with you and get your approval to move forward.  

At no cost to you, a program contractor will come perform the recommended energy efficiency upgrades to your home.

FAQs

Will I need to list everyone in my household to participate in this program?

Yes, anyone who resides in your household, regardless of age, should be listed in your application.

How long will the assessment take?

The virtual self-assessment form should take approximately one hour or less to complete. If a follow-up virtual chat needs to be set-up with a Georgia Power Energy Assessor, the length of that call may vary.

What would prevent my home from receiving services?

We are unable to provide services to homes that have a health and safety issue.  This includes but isn’t limited to issues such as roof leaks, mold or moisture, faulty wiring, and gas leak(s). Health and safety issues must be resolved before we can provide energy efficiency services.

Can I participate in the program if I am a renter?

Yes, you can apply as a renter, but your landlord will need to give their written consent to participate. Please verify with your landlord their willingness to participate before applying.
