Georgia Power is making a difference for seniors at Mays High School in Southwest Atlanta. On April 24, the company hosted a financial literacy event and donated nearly 300 laptops to students preparing for graduation.
Financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, and investing, creates informed Georgians who are ready to enter the workforce. The event was packed with activities, including interactive financial games, life simulation stations, and a panel discussion with Georgia Power employees.
Empowering education is one of the key components of Georgia Power’s corporate responsibility goals. Through intentional partnerships and education initiatives, the company fosters relationships with school districts and stakeholders around the state to make a difference in the community.
"We’re excited to work with Georgia Power to educate the leaders of tomorrow," said Principal Ramon Garner. "Their support is sure to have a lasting positive impact on our students."
Representing Georgia Power were regional managers Reginald Roby and Lisa Tolliver, along with a team of dedicated company volunteers.
