This program provides properties who serve low-to-moderate income Georgia Power customers with free home energy-efficiency improvements to improve comfort, reduce draft, help lower energy costs.

How the program works:

Step 1

Review the Criteria

Before completing an application, make sure you meet the basic program eligibility.

 

Step 2

Apply

Fill out an application

Your completed application will be reviewed to determine your participation eligibility.

Call 1-877-310-5607 Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM ET if you require assistance completing an application.

 

Step 3

Property Assessment

If approved to participate, a Georgia Power Energy Assessor will contact you with instructions to complete a property assessment. The assessor will review recommended energy improvements with you and get your approval to move forward.

 

Step 4

Improvements Made

At no cost to you, a participating program contractor will make the qualified energy-efficiency improvements to your property.

Depending on your assessment, your property could qualify for the following energy-saving improvements and more:

Seal heating & air ducts

Service central heating & air (HVAC)

Improve insulation

Install smart, Wi-Fi thermostat

Air seal gaps, cracks & leaks

Air purifiers & power strips

What are the qualifications to participate?

  • Privately-owned units that qualify for the low-income housing tax credit or other similar forms of public subsidy (subsidized affordable)
 
  • Publicly-owned Multi Family Affordable Housing (“MFAH”) units, typically operated by a local public housing authority
 
  • Privately-owned multifamily housing, other than subsidized, that is in a census tract that qualifies for the New Markets Tax Credit and in which at least half of the units have rents at or below 80 percent of the fair market rent, as published by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (unsubsidized affordable)
 
  • The tenant of a multifamily unit must receive the financial benefit of the reduction in energy costs after participation

Can I participate in if I am resident in a multifamily apartment?

You may qualify for another EASE program for residents, depending on eligibility 

 

The EASE program helps eligible Georgia Power customers lower energy use, reduce energy costs, and improve the comfort of their homes. What would prevent my property from receiving services?

We are unable to provide services to properties that have a health and safety issue.  This includes but isn’t limited to issues such as roof leaks, mold or moisture, faulty wiring, and gas leak(s). Health and safety issues must be resolved before we can provide energy efficiency services.

Do you replace windows or doors?

No, the EASE program does not replace windows or doors. Approved measures are Attic Insulation, Air Sealing, Duct Sealing, LED Lighting or HVAC Servicing.
