Join Georgia Power at the 2025 Hunger Walk/Run for Energy Assistance Resources

Georgia Power is joining forces with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) on Sunday, March 9 to help meet vital needs in the community. The efforts correspond with the company’s support of the 2025 Hunger Walk/Run – a key event organized by the ACFB that helps raise funds, build community, and spread awareness.

At the event, Georgia Power will assist participants and community members in signing up for the income-qualified discount, connect them with resources to help pay or lower their power bills, and provide answers to their questions, in addition to supporting the walk-run event.

"We highly value our customers and are committed to ensuring they are well-informed about their available options in times of need,” said Danny Johnson, Manager of Energy Assistance at Georgia Power. “We collaborate with a diverse range of community partners and agencies to help our customers achieve lower energy bills. My team is committed to providing all participants with the necessary resources at the Hunger Walk, and we will have a designated tent on-site to assist with any needs or questions.”

Adam Emrich, Director of Operations at Georgia Power, has been on the board of ACFB for five years.

“After witnessing the remarkable efforts of this organization to combat food insecurity, especially among children, I was deeply moved and inspired,” Emrich said. “This led me to fully commit to supporting their mission. Georgia Power and the Georgia Power Foundation are proud to stand behind this essential organization, which plays a vital role in addressing basic needs and making a positive impact in our community."
