We know the importance of energy in our daily lives. That’s why we partner with community-based organizations, nonprofits, houses of worship, and government-funded programs and services to assist those in need.
Project SHARE provides help to those who are truly in need. In 2021, Project SHARE provided assistance to more than 15,000 Georgians, with Georgia Power and its customers contributing $2.1 million to the program.
If you would like to apply, contact your local chapter of The Salvation Army. They take calls for assistance from 9-10 a.m. local time on Wednesday mornings.

We support the Division of Family & Children Services through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which is available every year from November to May and helps low-income households pay for heating and cooling their homes. The purpose of LIHEAP is to provide appropriate and timely financial assistance.
Applications for all LIHEAP services are made through a local Community Action Agency. The assistance is available in all 159 counties in Georgia.
Georgia Power customers 65 years of age or older with a combined income of 200 percent of the Federal Poverty level or less may qualify for a low income senior citizens discount. Submit an application securely online.
Income-qualified seniors can enjoy energy savings assistance through education and free home energy efficiency improvements. Georgia Power customers over the age of 60 and who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines may be able to qualify for participation.
