The annual Atlanta Falcons Community Honors Dinner presented by Georgia Power was held Monday, Dec. 10. The event recognizes the community accomplishments of players, as well as recognizing the Falcons Walter Payton Man of the Year and the Falcons Salute to Service Award winner.
Considered one of the league's most prestigious honors, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the field, as well as excellence on the field. The Atlanta Falcons nominated defensive tackle Grady Jarrett for the for the award. Jarrett, a native of Conyers, has taken great initiative in leading the Atlanta Falcons social justice efforts, and since joining the Falcons in 2015 has made it a priority to give back to the Georgia community. "Being nominated for Man of the Year is an accomplishment. Giving back and making an impact on people's lives in a real way is very important to me, " said Jarret.
