How the SCDI program works
1. Schedule your free assessment. Our program implementor, ICF, will contact you to confirm eligibility and schedule a free, no-obligation equipment assessment.
2. Report read-out of your qualified upgrades. We’ll discuss your eligibility for the following energy-saving upgrades: LED lighting, HVAC maintenance, and smart thermostats.*
3. Select the program upgrades that are right for your business. We pay up to 70% of the eligible project costs and our program contractors will manage the entire process from start to finish.
*If you already have a smart thermostat, you are not eligible for HVAC maintenance.

Who is eligible for this program?
The program is available to Georgia Power commercial customers with a 12-month peak demand of 120 kW or less. Email smallbiz@southernco.com to confirm your eligibility.
Who qualifies for HVAC maintenance services?
If you have a smart thermostat, you are not eligible for HVAC maintenance. However, you have the option to select both smart thermostat installation and HVAC maintenance, or simply choose the thermostat installation alone.
If I get a free assessment, am I obligated to participate in the program?
No. We provide a no-cost assessment, but you’re under no obligation to move forward with the program if you don’t think it’s a good fit for you.
Will I save money on my energy bill?
While actual savings can depend on factors like weather and usage patterns, improving older, inefficient systems can reduce overall energy use and help lower your costs.
Do I need to find my own contractor?
No. Our Small Commercial Direct Install Program is turnkey and our team will work with you through the entire process from equipment assessment to new high-efficiency upgrades installation. ICF is the program implementer, Matrix Energy Solutions and Maryland Energy Advisors are the assessment contractors, and equipment installation will be assigned to a program contractor.
