FAQs & Helpful Resources

What electric rate does my medium-sized business qualify for ?

Medium-sized businesses typically qualify for Power & Light Medium if their peak demand is between 30 kW and 500 kW. Businesses that can shift usage away from peak hours may also qualify for Time-of-Use rates.

What is the difference between Power & Light and Time-of-Use rates?

Power & Light rates include demand charges based on your highest 30-minute kW during the billing period. Time-of-Use rates charge different prices depending on when electricity is used, with higher rates during peak hours.

How is demand calculated on my business electric bill?

Demand is measured as the highest 30-minute kilowatt (kW) usage during the billing month. Some rates also apply seasonal or ratchet calculations that may affect billing demand.
