Large government campuses, agencies, or institutional facilities with significant and consistent demand.
Eligibility:
- 1-year contract
- Federal, state, or local government agencies
- Single delivery point through a single meter
- Not available for predominantly residential facilities
- Not available to network underground or service below 12 kV after Dec. 29, 1981
- Minimum demand thresholds apply (3,000–6,000 kW depending on application date)

Outdoor Lighting Service – Governmental

Fixed Device-Based
A fixed, device-based rate for unmetered traffic control equipment such as traffic signals, school flashers and traffic flashers.
Best For:
Municipalities operating unmetered traffic signal devices.
Eligibility:
- 1-year contract term
- Not avaliable for new premises
- Government-owned traffic control devices
- Located on public streets or highways

Do traffic signals and municipal infrastructure qualify for special electric rates?
Yes. Municipal traffic control systems may qualify for either Metered Traffic Control Service or Unmetered Traffic Control Service, depending on how the equipment is installed and billed.
How are demand charges calculated for government facilities?
Demand charges are typically based on the highest 30-minute kilowatt (kW) usage during the billing month. Some governmental rates also include seasonal or historical demand calculations that affect minimum billing demand.
