Behind Every Flip of the Switch: Meet Jared

Born and raised in Guyon, Georgia, just outside of Savannah, Jared has been an Instrumentation and Controls Technician at Georgia Power’s Plant McIntosh Combustion Turbine for seven years. 

In this role, he works on the critical systems that control the turbines, ensuring smooth operations and swift solutions when issues arise. His passion for problem-solving and project management has been a driving force in his career. 

Jared, who has a wife and two children, ages 4 and 9, values the community and culture at Georgia Power. His inspiration to join Georgia Power came from his father, who retired as a General Plant Operator after more than 30 years with the company. 

"This is the best company and job I've had. I've learned a lot and met many good people. I hope to continue my career here," he said. 

In his spare time, Jared enjoys boating, hunting, fishing, and supporting his kids in their sports activities.
