Georgia Power’s first president, Henry M. Atkinson, set the company’s mission more than 140 years ago.
Be “A Citizen Wherever We Serve.”
With the release of the 2024 Community Impact Report, that commitment to empowering Georgia remains stronger than ever through investments in volunteerism, philanthropy, and partnerships.
“This report is a testament to our shared values and mission to uplift and support the communities we proudly serve,” said Audrey King, SVP of Corporate Responsibility, and President and CEO of Georgia Power Foundation.
The Community Impact Report—which details environmental, community, and educational efforts across the state—is not just a reflection of past achievements, but a blueprint for ongoing and future initiatives that will continue to benefit all Georgians.
“From volunteering in schools to improving our environment and advancing social change, we are deeply invested in the growth and prosperity of the communities we serve,” said Kim Greene, Chairman, President and CEO of Georgia Power. “The extraordinary commitment and passion of our employees, retirees, and community partners to make a positive impact is truly inspiring. ... Together, we can ensure that our state continues to flourish, and that Georgia Power makes a positive impact in serving our customers for many years to come.”
