Dr. Gulshan Harjee is a granddaughter of Indian Immigrants - born in Tanzania and educated in Pakistan, Iran, and at Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory University in Atlanta Georgia.
She co-founded the Clarkston Community Health Center in 2013, practicing there solely since 2016.
Dr. Harjee views her work with immigrants, refugees, and the marginalized as her opportunity and privilege to give back. Her experiences of enduring war, religious persecution, ethnic cleansing, political turmoil, and the loss of her spouse to gun violence, have made her a courageous spirit in the face of insurmountable losses and immense suffering.
Alvin T. Wong won election to DeKalb County’s State Court bench in 1998, in a grassroots campaign that galvanized the Asian-American community like never before. He was the first AAPI to run for public office in metro Atlanta and the first to be elected judge in the Southeast.
He serves on the board of LifeLine Animal Project and is the current president of the Council of State Court Judges. Before that, he was a longtime Fernbank Museum of Natural History trustee and NAPABA Law Foundation board member. Over the years, he has received many awards for citizenship, leadership, and trailblazing. In 2014, GAPABA -- the Georgia Asian Bar which he co-founded – established its highest award, the Judge Alvin T. Wong Pioneer Award, in his honor.
Al Wong immigrated to the U.S. from Hong Kong at age 14. He lives in Atlanta with wife Jeannie Lin, a creative communications consultant, their three cats, and Coco, a special-needs dachshund mix.
Sophia Choi anchors Channel 2 Action News Saturday and Sunday AM and is a general assignment reporter for Channel 2 Action News. Prior to joining WSB-TV, Choi worked as the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. anchor at KVBC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Las Vegas, Choi worked as the prime-time anchor for CNN Headline News where she covered various breaking stories, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
Choi has also worked as an anchor or reporter in Los Angeles, Birmingham, and Lynchburg. She is an Emmy nominee and has won two Electronic Media Awards as well as an Associated Press Award for her work.
