The Asian/Pacific Council of Georgia (APAC) celebrated Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with its 33rd Annual Unity Gala in May.
More than 350 guests, including community, business, and legislative leaders, attended the celebration commemorating three decades of expanding Asian American unity in Georgia. Georgia’s first Asian American Superior Court Judge Meng Lin delivered the keynote address for the evening.
The mission of APAC is to promote the full participation of Asian Pacific Americans in American society and to represent the voice of Georgia’s growing Asian Pacific American population. There are 15 member organizations under the APAC umbrella.
The annual scholarship awards presentation highlighted the evening. Georgia Power, along with other community partners, presented 12 educational scholarships to deserving high school students from across the state.
APAC works with Georgia Power year-round to educate their member organizations on the latest energy information for small businesses and residential customers.
“We are proud to have a great community partnership with Georgia Power,” said Le Doan, APAC gala chairperson. "Through providing resources and tools for small businesses to supporting our gala and scholarship programs, we are able to support so many people in all of our communities."
