Baseball is back and Georgia Power is proud to continue our over 50 year partnership with the Atlanta Braves. Additionally, opening weekend fans were treated to a tour of the "Energy Reimagined" tiny house. The house features various connected home products, smart energy appliances and a microgrid demonstration. Fans also received magnetic Atlanta Braves schedules presented by Georgia Power, entered to win autographed merchandise, and met former Atlanta Braves third baseman Terry Pendleton.
John Cornelius Jr, distribution manager for Power Delivery, threw out the first pitch on Friday, March 30 and was recognized along with others to kick off Lineman Appreciation Month. 2018 marks the sixth year that Georgia Power has joined with the state's other electric utilities to celebrate and thank linemen across Georgia. Linemen work in communities throughout the state every day, but their work is especially evident following spring and summer thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, snow and ice storms in the winter.
During Georgia Power's 2018 Thank a Lineman initiative, saying "thank you" is easy by simply signing the digital card at www.georgiapower.com/thankalineman. Additionally, Georgians can celebrate and engage with linemen stories and videos on social media by using and following #ThankALineman and by visiting Georgia Power's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
