Georgia Power helps feed community following hurricane

After Hurricane Idalia left a path of destruction bringing dangerous winds, toppling trees and causing flash flooding, thousands of crew members for Georgia Power went to work restoring power to communities including Valdosta, Waycross, Tifton and Savannah, among others, as safely and as quickly as possible.

In addition to work restoring power for area homes and businesses, Georgia Power team members demonstrated the company’s commitment to being a “citizen wherever we serve,” supporting the community and providing assistance wherever possible. For example, in the hardest hit areas in South Georgia, Georgia Power donated and helped distribute more than 2,000 meals together with Second Harvest of South Georgia.
