Budget Bill

The weather has a big impact on the amount of electricity you use. For most customers, the highest bills are in the summer, when you use air-conditioning the most. For other customers, it can be when you are heating your home during the chilly winter months.

With Budget Bill, you say goodbye to those peaks that can really hit your budget the hardest, because now you're paying approximately the same amount each month, based on an average of your previous 12 months' electrical usage.

If you have been billed for 12 months at the location and have a good credit standing with Georgia Power, you are eligible for Budget Bill provided your average monthly bill does not exceed $5,000.

The monthly bill amount may vary from month to month based on customer usage. A customer may cancel Budget Bill at any time by phone or online. After cancellation of Budget Bill or a discontinuance of electric service to the premises, any balance due will be billed to the account, or any credit will be applied to the account.

Budget Bill - Terms & Conditions

Residential and Non-Residential customers eligible for Budget Billing must meet the following requirements:

  • There must be 12 months of valid history billed to the customer at the premise
  • The customer must plan to remain at the premise for the 12-month contract period to prevent billing of large deferred balances
  • The premise is limited to four or less individually metered active electric service points
  • The Account credit rating is A or B
  • The maximum monthly Budget Billing amount for residential and non-residential customers is less than $5,000.
